C/S Project Showcase: St. Rose Dominican Hospital
St. Rose Dominican Hospital is a new 265,000 sq. ft. 139-bed hospital designed in the California mission style. Designer Mary Jean Thompson specified Acrovyn HRBW-10C wood handrails in a natural maple to coordinate with the facility's nurses' stations, furniture and other decorative elements. At the entrance of each patient room, custom designed Acrovyn door frame protectors cover vertical pilasters that integrate with the hand stenciled beams above each door. A significant portion of the architectural products used in St. Rose are manufactured by companies belonging to the Healthcare Design Research Alliance, including Armstrong, WilsonArt, Hill-Rom, Shaw Industries, KI and C/S.
